Cliff and Gorge Vineyards

Lillooet British Columbia

we are farmers first

Modern agriculture began in this area starting with apple and pear orchards at Earlscourt around 1864. Its been said of our region that if you can get water on it, you can grow anything here. Indeed.
Our journey began only in 2008 to discover not only what wine grapes would grow well here, but what varieties would LOVE it here. The results of this journey so far can be found in our wines.
Uncovering great grape terrior is truly a quest, and having the fruit realize it’s full potential in the bottle occurs almost entirely in the vineyard.

We are closed until August 19 2024

Visits are by appointment as this offers the best experience for our guests. Please send me a message below or call/text me at 250 256 8000 to book your self guided tasting in our beautiful picnic area.

You may have heard about the damage done to the BC Wine industry the last few winters. We were impacted also. For the 2024 season we will be introducing our LANDWINE series, three blended wines: Rosé, White and a Red. We hope to get back to our very popular six wines in the future however Mother Nature is in charge of that.

Your tasting package includes three half (375ml) bottles of all our LANDWINE series and tasting glasses for your party. The cost is $35 plus tax for your whole group.

We still have a bit of wine in regular 750ml format but will be blowing out additional (first one regular price of $35.) really cute and yummy 3 x 375ml tasting packs for 30 bucks each!

We’ll have your tasting package ready for your arrival and will spend some time together in the picnic area. Bring a picnic or some snacks, you’ll want to linger. Afterward stretch your legs with a walk around the Texas Creek and Fraser Gorges trail (1.4km, 30min.) on Texas Creek Ranch. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
All our wines are under screw-cap so what you don’t consume from your tasting package you take home with you.
This is not a hurried affair.
Most visitors spend between 2 and 3 hours here.
A visit to Cliff and Gorge is truly a Wine Adventure.

Grapes into Wine

When the grapes are harvested and pressed, our job in the winery is to get out of their way. Really. Sound grapes from healthy clusters largely take care of themselves. If they need a little help now and then – fine – but we do nothing to coax: this style; that aroma; a “target flavour”.
Cliff and Gorge wines are straight up clean, honest expressions of the vineyard. We figure you want to taste the product of this land with no adulteration so we add nothing, nor take anything away that alters the flavours and aromas. That includes oak – you won’t find any oaked wines at Cliff and Gorge lest the pure flavour of the fruit be masked.
